Dominion Building Group's comprehensive approach to
project management includes accurate cost estimates, detailed
accounting of construction costs and timely scheduling of work.
Accurate Cost Estimates
DBG's cost estimates begin with a preliminary cost estimate.
The preliminary
cost estimate is the result of several meetings with the client and a
thorough review of the preliminary drawings. DBG then researches
specialty items and items significant to the project. The end result is
a detailed preliminary construction cost estimate that serves as the
financial blueprint for the rest of the project.
Upon approval of the preliminary cost estimate, the final design
begins. The final design will incorporate additional needs and desires
of DBG clients that were identified during the preliminary cost
estimate. A detailed specification identifying all of the items in the
home is also created.
The final construction cost estimate includes a formal bidding
procedure in which preferred/prequalified vendors and subcontractors
are requested to bid on the project. The result is a complete and
accurate construction cost estimate that is ready for scheduling and
accounting.
Detailed
Accounting
Upon approval of the final construction cost estimates, the estimate is
transferred to DBG's accounting system where the cost estimate becomes
the construction budget. Upon the set up of the job specific
accounting, job cost can then be tracked to the benefit of DBG'
clients. Every dollar spent on each job is accounted for, no more, no
less. DBG clients receive a monthly statement and invoice. Cost
plus clients receive a job cost analysis monthly.
Timely Scheduling
Upon the approval of the final construction cost estimate, the project
schedule is then created. The schedule is used by DBG superintendents
and management to drive the job to a successful completion. DBG clients
are provided periodic copies of the schedule for their use and
information.
